Frequently asked questions
Every brand of shoe and the designs within that brand can vary in fit and size due to the tooling used in the shoe-making process. Without industry standardisation, relying on AU, UK, US or EU sizing can be fraught with uncertainty. That’s why knowing the centimetre length, width and circumference of your own feet, and checking these measurements against the size guide of each shoe style, is the most accurate way to determine what size to order.

Step 2. Identify Your Shoe Size from the Chart
Each of our shoe styles has a blue SIZE GUIDE link just under the description, at the top of the product page. Here you will find the manufacturer’s EU size which we’ve further defined with hand-measured insole and outsole lengths (where different), width and circumference measurements. These are taken in the universal standard of centimetres. Having followed the steps above, you now have the comprehensive shoe information needed to compare with your foot measurements. TIP: For enclosed shoes, add 1.5cm to your foot length measurement to find the right insole length.

Measure your foot length, width and circumference
We recommend measuring both of your feet and using the longest measurement. The best time to measure your feet is in the afternoon or evening, when your feet have flattened out from the activity of the day. If you measure in the morning, you might buy the wrong-sized shoes.
1. Step on a piece of paper that is long enough for your bare foot.
2. Butt your foot up against a wall so it doesn’t move.
3. Hold a pencil at right angles to the paper and trace around your foot.
4. Use a tape/ruler to measure the distance from the heel to the tip of the longest toe. Do not round up the results.
5. Use a tape/ruler to measure the distance between the two widest points on your tracing.
6. Wrap a soft tape measure right around the widest part of your foot and record the circumference.
7. Do likewise with your ankle and calf (if you are keen to purchase sandals with ankle straps, ankle boots or calf length boots).
8. Make a note of your length, width and circumference measurements (in centimetres) in your phone Notes so you have them conveniently available when shopping online anywhere, anytime.
Always try shoes on carpet and only for short periods at a time. This will avoid marking the soles and creasing the leather in case you decide to return them. Products that have been worn, used or otherwise not in new, unworn condition cannot be returned.
Here are some tips to help you decide if the shoe fit is appropriate for your feet:
a. A slight firmness across the shoe is ok. As the leather stretches with wear, the firmness will ease.
b. Your toes should not touch the very end of the shoes when you stand up. You should have some wriggle room.
c. There should be no increased numbness in your feet within 5 minutes of wear.
d. Shoes that are very tight and become more uncomfortable after 5 minutes of wear are too small or narrow for you. A half to full size bigger is recommended to try.
e. If the footbed is easily removed, place it on the floor and put your foot on top of it. The footbed provides first indications of how well the shoe fits in length. The front area is particularly important. There should be approximately 1.5cm space between your toes and the tip of your footwear. Width of the foot cannot be deduced 1-to-1, as the interior of shoes is usually wider than the footbed.
Regular shipping within Australia by Australia Post usually takes 7-10 days. Customers will be notified if Australia Post delays are unavoidably delayed (eg. due to COVID, floods) and shipments are likely to take longer than usual.

You may call us or email us (mark the email URGENT) and we will do our best to get the shoes to you pronto! Please note, a small surcharge may apply. Express shipping takes 3-5 business days.
We send all shipments through Australia Post with tracking included. To track your order, simply simply visit the Australia Post website HERE.

If you’re local to the Sunshine Coast, passing through, or visiting – you may contact us directly to make an appointment to ‘try before you buy’. We would be happy to show you our range and assist your size selection. Bookings are strictly by appointment only. Cash and card payments options available.
Customers may return their purchase for a refund or exchange within 14 days of receipt of goods in line with the Australian Consumer Law and the Customer Guarantees which it protects. All returns MUST be accompanied by a returns form, either in hard copy (enclosed with your order when mailed to you) or lodged via this website’s Returns page. Items returned without proper notification or outside of the returns period may not be refunded or exchanged.
This does not include change of mind or where customers have neglected to take the advice and instructions of the seller. It does cover faulty products and shoes not as described. See the Refund Policy at the Quick Links at the bottom of this page for a full description.
Advice and instructions of the seller: customers are required to measure their feet in accordance with our FAQ instructions, and check the size chart on the relevant product page, prior to purchase. Customers are also required to indicate in the checkout that they have completed this task as part of their shopping experience.
In addition to the Australian Consumer Law Guarantees, Hallowed Footwear offers customers a no-risk-refund and a peace-of-mind-replacement guarantee on first purchases.
The ‘peace-of-mind-replacement guarantee’ requires goods are received back to Hallowed Footwear in re-saleable, unworn condition (in line with our returns policy) for a size exchange of the same style purchased, or a style exchange for a pair of shoes of equal or lesser value (with credit note for the difference), without the customer incurring the cost of postage for the replacement pair being forwarded to them. This is only available on the first pair purchased, allowing you to familiarise yourself with the sizing chart and instructions we supply to aid accurate selection.
The ‘no-risk-return guarantee’ is an offer to refund you the price of the shoes and the postage you paid to us for those shoes, also on your first purchase –providing the goods are received back to Hallowed Footwear in re-saleable, unworn condition (in line with our returns policy).
On second and subsequent purchases, postage costs associated with refunds and exchanges will be wholly born by the customer.
If you are not completely satisfied with a purchase, we recommend you check our Refund Policy and complete the Returns Form so we can work with you to remedy the issue. Please see Quick Links at the bottom of this page.
Returns are required to include all the original packaging materials, including the original shoe box. Please do not use the shoe box as the shipping container. Place the shoes and original shoe box into another box or post bag, or carefully wrap it with sturdy paper. It is important to return the goods in new condition. A full credit may be denied for returned merchandise not meeting the above return conditions. Print and complete a Returns Form within fourteen (14) days of receiving goods and include in the box, or email one to us in lieu of the item being posted back. Please use the Returns Form link at the bottom of the page.
